House cleaning price calculator
Most US cleaning companies charge about $0.08 to $0.20 per square foot for a standard clean, roughly $160 to $400 for a 2,000 sq ft home. To price your own jobs, work out the cleaner-hours (about 500 sq ft an hour on a standard clean, 350 on a deep clean, 300 on a move-out), multiply by what an hour of labor costs you, and divide by the share of the price you want labor to take, often about half.
For cleaning business owners. Put in the home and your own pay rates, and get a price that covers your crew.

House cleaning prices by square footage
Monthly visits, calculated with the defaults above: $17.07 an hour pay, 15% payroll costs, labor at 50% of the price and a $120 minimum. Weekly clients would pay about 10% less, one-time clients about 15% more. At the national median wage these prices sit at the low end of the market; companies in high-cost cities, or paying above the median, charge more.

How the calculator works
- Cleaner-hours = square feet ÷ production rate. We use 500 sq ft an hour for a standard clean, 350 for a deep clean and 300 for a move-out, from the ranges cleaning businesses report.
- Labor cost = cleaner-hours × pay × (1 + payroll taxes and insurance).
- Price = labor cost ÷ labor share, adjusted for how often you visit, plus extras. It never goes below your minimum charge.
- Time on site = cleaner-hours ÷ cleaners. A bigger crew finishes sooner but costs the same cleaner-hours, so the price doesn't change.
Our assumptions. Visit-frequency adjustments (weekly −10%, every two weeks −5%, monthly 0, one-time +15%) and the 50% labor share are common rules of thumb from cleaning software guides, not industry standards. Change them to match your business.
